Qualcomm to launch new Snapdragon PCs and mobile chipsets in India on July 30: Here’s what you can expect


Qualcomm India will be hosting a “Snapdragon for India” event in Delhi on July 30. The company’s invite hints at two major announcements. The event’s artwork features elements like AI, Snapdragon logo, AI in PC, 5G, and WiFi.

These clues suggest the launch of the Snapdragon X Elite 5G-powered Copilot PC in India. There are also rumors of the release of additional Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus PC models. Furthermore, Qualcomm could introduce a new mobile chipset at the event.

Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus processors expected

Qualcomm’s announcement points to the launch of Copilot+ PCs powered by Snapdragon Xseries processors. These PCs offer faster speeds, better performance, connectivity, extended battery life, and AI capabilities.

Expected releases include the Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus, which offer powerful AI features and connectivity but are slightly less powerful.

Several laptop makers have already unveiled their Copilot+ PCs for India. The ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED (2024), which features this chip, is one of them. Here is a list of Snapdragon Xseries laptops available or coming soon in India:

  • Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge
  • Dell XPS 13 Laptop
  • Dell Inspiron 14 Plus
  • Dell Latitude 7455 Laptop
  • Acer Swift 14 AI

Many of these laptops are yet to launch in India and more details are likely to come out after the Snapdragon event for India.

Snapdragon Mobile Chip Coming to India

Qualcomm has also hinted at a new mobile chipset designed specifically for the Indian market. The chipset is expected to be a low-cost 5G processor, described as a “revolutionary platform” to boost 5G access for millions of Indians.
