The Renault Megane 2024 Electronics Technology had it price reduced by $10,000 in May this year and the brand has confirmed that the discounted recommended retail price will continue for the foreseeable future.
Renault Megane E-Tech Techno EV60 continues to be available at $54,990 before on-road. This offering price was originally expected to last until June 30 as a temporary offer at the end of the financial year.
When the Megane E-Tech launched locally earlier this year, it was priced at $64,990 before on-roads.
“It is our job to listen to the market and customer needs to ensure we remain competitive,” said Glen Sealey, general manager of Renault Australia.
“The decision to maintain current pricing for the Megane E-Tech comes as demand for the model has grown across our network since its launch.”
When the first price cut was announced, the Megane E-Tech joined three other electric vehicles (EVs) – Pole Star 2, Peugeot E-2008 And Nissan Leaf – discount before the end of the fiscal year.
Since the Megane E-Tech began arriving in Australia in February 2024, Renault has reported selling 171 units.
For context, Tesla Model Y – priced from $55,900 before on-road costs – has sold 12,516 units this year and is the country’s best-selling electric car.
Renault Megane E-Tech Techno EV60 is equipped with an engine single electric motormanufacture 160kW of power and 300Nm torque, front wheel drive.
Its 60kWh lithium-ion battery pack provides a claimed driving range of 454km in the WLTP test cycle, consumes 15.6kWh per 100km.
The battery can charge at up to 7.4kW when connected to an AC wall charger or up to 130kW when plugged into a public DC fast charger.
