For two weeks, a devoted rescuer patiently hand-fed Beckham, a dog found with a leash around his snout. The story began when a call came in about a dog with a zip tie around its snout. It was a shocking and distressing situation, and the rescuers knew they had to act fast. Pinky Paws Search & ResQ was brought in to help capture the frightened and alert dog. They set traps to catch the dog, and the dog’s prospective foster mom even launched a drone to locate the dog – but Beckham proved to be quite clever, circling around crates and avoiding capture.
After several attempts, rescuers finally caught up with Beckham. They knew there was still a long road ahead for the traumatized dog, but they were determined to help him heal and find a loving home. His foster mom took him home and began hand-feeding Beckham while he hid in the bathroom. She worked hard to gain his trust and show him that humans could be safe and caring.
It took two weeks before Beckham was introduced to the other dogs in his foster mother’s pack. During this time, he began to show small signs of improvement, such as chewing on toys – something he had never shown any interest in before. This was a big moment, as it showed that Beckham was starting to feel more comfortable and interested in playing.
With time and patience, Beckham continued to learn to trust people again. Eventually, he found the perfect family to help him continue his healing journey. His new family would provide him with the love, support, and guidance he needed to fully recover from his traumatic past and embrace his new life.
