Dyson Launches New Headphones That Don’t Cover Your Mouth This Time

Dyson has announced This is my second pair of over-ear headphones, and the first pair that doesn’t look like a high-tech gimp mask.

Dyson calls new cans OnTrac. not to be confused with Ocean shipping company same name and spelling. Unlike Dyson Zone Unlike previous headphones, the OnTrac headphones, which are not connected to an air purifier, wrap around your mouth and make you look like you’re cosplaying a robot. Dyson describes the OnTrac as “sound only”headphones just to differentiate more clearly.

These are expensive headphones, aimed at audiophiles and anyone willing to spend over $500 on some quiet sound cannons. The OnTrac’s design is also incredibly customizable; Dyson allows users to swap out the ear cushions and outer earcup covers to change the color. There will only be four color options at launch, but Dyson says more will be available later. The company says the headphones will have many of the hallmarks of modern high-end headphones, including noise cancellation that can reduce noise by up to 40 decibels. Dyson says the OnTrac will also come with a truly insane 55 hours of battery life with regular use.

The OnTrac earbuds aren’t on sale yet, and Dyson hasn’t said when they will be. But when they do arrive, they’ll start at $500, with some customization options pushing the price even higher.

Here’s some other consumer tech news this week.

Amazon has attracted $14.2 billion in sales during the two-day trading event. That’s a significant increase over the 2023 sale, which raised a little 12 billion dollars.

Amazon Prime Day sales were higher than ever, thanks in part to a surge buy now, pay later plan. According to Adobe AnalyticsPeople have purchased more than $1 billion worth of goods through these deferred payment plans. That’s great for Apple and anyone happy with their shiny new 65-inch OLED TV, but it’s worth noting that BNPL plans come with potential danger can cause people to become overly indebted.

After a slew of leaked details about Google’s new phone, the company has decided to simply introduce its upcoming Pixel to the world. In a post on X, Google revealed first official look on the Pixel 9 Pro. Google teased the phone’s integration with the company’s Gemini AI software and provided more details about the phone, which will launch on August 13. (These Pixels are expected to come with full AI integration, if Google recent product announcements gave us any suggestions.)
