A federal appeals court has issued a temporary injunction blocking the Biden administration from implementing its new student loan repayment plan, known as SAVE.
“We are assessing the impact of this ruling and will contact borrowers directly about any impact on them,” a Department for Education spokesperson said.
The 8th Circuit Court of Appeals appears to have blocked the entire SAVE plan, said higher education expert Mark Kantrowitz.
Previously, only part of the plan had been delayed due to multiple legal challenges to the bailout program.
