Tesla driver fined for treating suburban roads like highways
A Tesla driver has lost his driving licence after being caught driving at 104km/h in a 50km/h zone in Sydney’s south-west.
According to a post on NSW Roads and Traffic Patrol Command Liverpool City Road Patrol arrested the offending driver during a routine patrol, according to Facebook page.
Their driving licenses were suspended for six months and their license plates were confiscated for three months.
In addition, the driver received a violation notice with a fine of $2,794.
It appears the driver wasn’t trying to blame Tesla’s driver-assist technology for the violation, as some have done recently.
A Melbourne driver has blamed Autopilot for hitting a pedestrian, earlier then admitted it was her faultwhile a California driver blamed the Model S’s fully autonomous driving system crashed into a parked police car.
