Spanish-inspired Porsche 911 Cuarenta Edition Gets Gorgeous Tartan Seats

After many years of being represented by an importer in Spain And PortugalPorsche officially launched its subsidiary Porsche España in 1984, now known as Porsche Ibérica. To celebrate the division’s 40th anniversary, Porsche launched New 911 Carrera GTS The Cuarenta version has a super special look inspired by Iberian Peninsula.

The Cuarenta Edition was designed as if “a Spanish or Portuguese customer would order it 40 years ago and it would still be fashionable and desirable today,” says Alexander Fabig, VP of Personalization & Classics. Sonderwunsch Team worked closely with colleagues in Spain and Portugal to learn about Iberian culture and bring that inspiration to the car, and the result is one of the most stunning modern 911s.

Start on the outside with Quercusverde, a newly developed shade inspired by the colour of the leaves of the holm oak, a tree found throughout Spain and Portugal also known as Quercus ilex. The non-metallic color is highlighted by Black Satin rocker panels on the rear fenders, silver and aluminum exterior trim, and Black Satin spoked wheels with Brilliant Silver rims reminiscent of the 1980s wheels. Porsche created a special badge for the Cuarenta featuring an illustration of a Quercus tree; hand-painted in Cremewhite, it is mounted on the rear grille and the B-pillar also has a slim badge in the same color with the model name.

The interior of the Cuarenta is where things get really interesting. A Truffle Brown and Cohiba Brown color scheme is used throughout, with the darker Truffle used on the upper dashboard and door panels, as well as the carpets and other lower trims. Porsche says the brown is reminiscent of the work of the guarnicioneros, the saddlemakers of the Iberian Peninsula. The center of the seats features gorgeous tartan inserts in Cohiba Brown, Crayon (light gray), Truffle Brown, and a green similar to the Quercusverde paint.

The tartan fabric is accented by Crayon piping on the seats and hand-stitched Crayon stitching on the dashboard and door panels, while the seat belts are also finished in Crayon. Cuarenta lettering is embossed on the headrests and “Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur” is embossed on the centre console. Other special touches include illuminated Cuarenta aluminium door sills in Cremewhite, puddle lamps in the doors with the Quercus tree logo, a key fob in the same colour as the model name and a leather key pouch in the same colour as the tree logo. Customers will also receive a customised Quercusverde indoor car cover with the Cremewhite logo and lettering.

Porsche didn’t say how many 911 Cuarenta Editions it will build, only saying that the cars will be offered to “a small group” of customers in the Iberian Peninsula. Porsche Ibérica will retain one for preservation and display.
