Beverly Hills, 90210 Star Shannen Doherty Dies of Cancer

Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and fought the disease bravely for many years. Her dog Bowie was the first to detect her cancer.

“It is with great sadness that I confirm the passing of the actress. Shannen Doherty“, her publicist Leslie Sloane said in a statement. “On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after years of battling the disease. The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by loved ones and loved ones. dog, Bowie. The family asks that privacy be respected at this time so they can grieve in peace.”

Before Shannen Doherty, former star of “Beverly Hills, 90210,” was diagnosed with breast cancer, her loyal dog, Bowiewas the first to sense something was wrong. Doherty shared in a preview of the upcoming episode of Tonight’s entertainment (The video can be viewed below.) Bowie had an unusual behavior of repeatedly breathing into a specific point on the right side of his body.

“She had been obsessively sniffing right next to me for a long time before that,” Doherty revealed. “So it made sense when I got diagnosed.”

“I have breast cancer that has spread to my lymph nodes, and from one of my surgeries we found out that some of the cancer cells may have escaped from my lymph nodes,” Doherty explained in her ET interview. “So we’re doing chemotherapy, and after the chemotherapy, I’m going to do radiation.”

“When I came back from surgery, [Bowie] “She was in this exact area again,” she recalls, pointing to her right side. “Then, when I went through my first round of chemo, she would sniff my whole body from top to bottom. And she was always protective, but now she’s become a crazy guard dog. It’s hard to get close to me when she’s around.”

Doherty shared a touching Instagram post with an image of “Miss Bowie” lying next to her in bed. She shared with her followers the hardships of her chemotherapy and how the dog’s constant presence brought her comfort.

“Everyone’s cancer journey is different. For me, chemo was horrible, and believe me, we tried just about everything. So days like this have become a normal part of the equation. I’m learning that it’s okay to fall into bed and give in to exhaustion, nausea, or pain,” Doherty wrote. “I’ve learned so much from all the amazing people who have shared their personal stories with me on Instagram.”

Shannen Doherty’s story highlights the deep bond between people and their pets and how Bowie’s intuition played a key role in her health journey. Bowie’s protective instincts and comforting presence were a beacon of hope and support during one of the most difficult times in Doherty’s life.
