Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has been invited to speak at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee next week, according to two sources familiar with the decision, who said details have not yet been finalized.

The Republican National Committee, the Trump campaign and Haley’s team did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The invitation appears to have been sent within the past few days.

On Tuesday, Haley, who also served as ambassador to the United Nations under Trump before challenging him for the Republican nomination, released 97 of her delegates so they can support the former president at the convention.

Chaney Denton, Haley’s longtime senior aide, told NBC News at the time that she was “not invited” to the conference and “she was fine with that.”

“Trump deserves the convention he wants,” Denton said. “She made it clear that she would vote for him and wished him all the best.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, one of Trump’s main opponents and a frequent clasher with the former president, is expected to speak at the convention.
