First Responder Video Released From Sen. Fetterman’s High-Speed Crash: ‘He Was Flying’

After the accident, Fetterman reportedly remained polite and answered any questions authorities asked. Although he did not reveal his political identity to authorities, a man who appeared to be a paramedic could be seen in body camera footage explaining that Fetterman’s signature shorts and sweatshirt gave away his public role. The lawmaker made this statement last month regarding the accident,
“This was an unfortunate accident on a Sunday, and I am relieved and grateful that there were no serious injuries,” he said at the time. “I have been driving for almost 40 years and I have gotten a handful of tickets. When I speed, I am responsible. I need to do better and slow down — and I will.”
According to the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Speeding has been linked to about one-third of all motor vehicle fatalities over the past 20 years. No one should speed or drive recklessly, but as a legislator and someone people look up to in both literal and figurative ways, Senator Fetterman needs to respect the law and drive within the speed limit. He is fortunate that his recklessness did not result in serious injury to anyone.
