Notorious Seattle Dodge Charger Hellcat owner who said he was a bastard for terrorizing the city with his noisy exhaust and reckless driving that brought punishment for his actions. After one judge ruled that he could not drive his “Belltown Hellcat” because he had disturbed the peace with the roar of its V8 engine, it appeared that Hellcat owner Miles Hudson ignored the ruling. He might regret Seattle KOMO News reports say the city fined him $83,000.
Hudson was known to drive recklessly while driving around town, often filming himself doing so. That all changed when he was stopped twice, the second time police told him they knew he had a social media following for his antics. A court order not to drive and a bit of jail time followed, but Hudson didn’t seem to care that any of that happened.
The Seattle attorney general’s office alleged that “Hudson continued to ‘flaunt’ the Chargers’ excessive noise on his Instagram account.” This begs the question – if you’re going to do something like this, Why spread it on social media? That’s how you got caught. We in no way approve of this guy’s behavior, but you have to be an idiot to go back to social media to do the same thing you did. Just been arrested and put in jail.
In a statement, City Attorney Ann Davison called for the city to be awarded all fines and penalties resulting from Hudson’s actions.
Mr. Hudson gained online notoriety by blatantly violating Seattle’s laws and waking his neighbors with excessive noise. It’s time for him to face the consequences of his actions. That is why I ask the court to find Mr. Hudson in violation of the law and to award the City all applicable penalties.
The award was another result of Hudson’s inaction. Apparently, as part of the ruling, he had to show the city that the Hellcat’s modified exhaust system had been repaired; According to police, he modified the Hellcat’s exhaust to intentionally backfire, described as sounding like gunshots or fireworks. He never fixed it or submitted proof and as a result the city fined him $1,300 a day. Strong. The total is about $83,000. Hudson will return to court later this month for both the case and hearing on two counts of reckless driving; he was caught going 107 mph in March.
