The Idol: Jennie’s choreography inspires TikTok Challenge
Whether you like The Idol or not, there’s no denying that Blackpink’s Jennie is an outstanding name. Making her debut in the controversial HBO series, the star plays Dyanne, a talented backup dancer for Lily-Rose Depp’s Jocelyn. Just two episodes in, Jennie’s character has inspired a social media challenge that could eclipse the series’ popularity.
During a dance practice scene in episode one, Dyanne shows Jocelyn how to properly perform a glamor move for her single “I’m a Freak”. She hit every strut, hair flip, and booty dance passionately as a tearful Jocelyn watched and the choreographer shouted encouragingly, “Lick it! Hit it! Release! ” Since then, viewers have turned Dyanne’s dance into an increasingly engaging TikTok challenge. Even Troye Sivan, who also appeared in “The Idol,” got in on the action by mimicking Dyanne’s erotic moves at home.
Jennie’s previous stage performances and music video shoots with Blackpink certainly prepared her for Dyanne’s moment of attention. In a behind-the-scenes video shared by HBO, the singer said: “I don’t have a lot of time to learn the choreography for the dance scenes, but luckily I do this often so it comes to me. naturally. .”
