How to plan landscape photography
You can certainly pull out your camera and create photos when it comes to capturing interesting scenes or subjects, but when it comes to capturing things like landscapes and cityscapes, planning ahead can really help. You get the next level shots. This helpful video tutorial features an experienced photographer discussing how he plans to shoot and points out some helpful tools to give you a better chance of returning home with the shot you want.
Coming to you from aows, this great video tutorial discusses how to plan a landscape shoot. One of my favorite tools for this is The Photographer’s Ephemeral. Available both on the web and as an iOS app, it contains everything you need to see how the light will perform at a given location and date, see the golden hour, and more. However, perhaps my favorite feature is the augmented reality view. This allows you to use your phone’s camera to overlay features like the sun to see exactly where they are in the landscape at a given time. Pair it with a good weather app, and you’ll be in great shape for lots of shoots. Watch the video above for the full summary.
