Countermeasure cages are attracting a lot of interest recently as they are often seen on Russian tanks that took part in the invasion of Ukraine. Do these cages work?
Theoretically, a properly crafted slate armor could provide significant – but not absolute – protection against enemy ballistics. They are also being used in many countries. But strangely enough, for some reason, the Russian military didn’t really follow the scientific guidelines for making these countermeasures, which greatly reduced their effectiveness.
