Tips to create good videos quickly and for free
Video content is in more demand than ever, both in social media and commercial applications. However, post-processing can be time-consuming and expensive, which makes it difficult for many photographers. In this video, Jan Wegener shows you how to speed up your workflow and use a free editing suite.
A few years ago, I first looked at the video. It’s something I’ve been interested in for a while but haven’t had a proper commercial opportunity to justify buying the right equipment. However, it’s not really the device that bothers me when it comes to the money, it’s the editing suite. As I used Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom (somewhat reluctantly with the latter), I decided that Adobe Premiere Pro was the right video editing tool for me. I’ve also had some experience using it in previous iterations.
Then I found that when using Photoshop and Lightroom, I needed to spend £50 per month (about $66) to get access to all 3 apps. An unacceptable price and another reason why I want to opt out of subscription models even if it comes at the cost of constant updates. However, there is another option and that is freeware (with a paid upgrade option) mentioned in this video: DaVinci Resolve.
Have you used DaVinci Resolve? Would you recommend it? Is the paid upgrade worth it in your opinion? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
