Dogs love to listen to Christmas music and even have favorite songs, survey results
Music can help dogs shelter relax and entertain your dog while you’re away, so it’s no surprise that many puppies enjoy listening to holiday music.
But just like us, they have their favorite songs.
A recent survey conducted by UK-based nonprofit, Guide Dogs, asked 1,000 dog owners what song their dogs wagged their tails the most and disclosure Top 10 Christmas songs.
Wham’s Last Christmas! is the most favorite song according to the survey. Listen to it below and see how your dog reacts.
Close behind are Jingle Bells and All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey.
Apparently, Fido prefers upbeat tunes over instrumental or slower songs. Check out the full list of favorite songs below.

33% of dog owners also revealed that they are more likely to change up a holiday playlist to please their dog at the request of family or friends.
Dr. Helen Whiteside, Scientific Director of Guide Dogs, speak“Music is often used to soothe dogs in times of change and stress, so it’s no surprise that it will play an important role for dogs this Christmas. But we can also see from the poll that music can provide moments of joy for dogs and owners to share. “
This nonprofit also encourages dog parents to play carnival tunes in the car. They recommend starting by playing music at a low volume and seeing how your dog reacts. Also, don’t just turn on the music when you leave the house, or Fido will start linking the music when you leave.
90% of dogs surveyed enjoy listening to music, not just Christmas tunes. Owners report that their pups enjoy listening to pop (20%), classical (15%), and reggae (9%).
