Mitsubishi teases Ralliart concept for Tokyo Auto Salon
Rumors have been spread that Mitsubishi will do some interesting things with the performance-oriented Ralliart brand. And it has launched some special variants in some foreign markets with the name, but that doesn’t seem to be the end. Next month at Tokyo Auto Shop, Mitsubishi will display a Ralliart car model.
The company has released a single teaser image of the concept, and it makes us feel optimistic. It shows off a large rear diffuser with a simple and stylish Ralliart badging attached. Unfortunately, that’s all we can see. So there is no way to know what type of media is attached to it. Could it be a fancy show car we’ve never seen before, or a sportier version of a current model?
At least a rumor suggested concept can be based on Outlander PHEV. It certainly makes sense to revive Ralliart with a model as popular as Outlander, not to mention a product that is completely new and represents where the brand is headed. The PHEV will be an interesting choice for performance and we’re curious what Mitsubishi will change to make it sportier. The larger electric motor would be appealing, but a more minimal set of upgrades like the suspension and brake will be more likely.
However, the Ralliart concept will not be the only concept on display from Mitsubishi. The company will also introduce an electric kei car, which is an extremely small scale car for a particular type of car in the country. Japan. As such, there would be no way for us to get to the US, but it could still be a compact machine to see.
