Adrian Wall looks forward to this Friday’s action day of ITV Racing will be hosted by Newbury Racecourse. The feature race of the day is Long distance rush where Paisley Park will find its way back on track. Adrian picked out a tip at 22-1 who would outrun his big odds. Colin Tizzard was extremely quiet this time last year but the field has been firing on all turrets since the end of October and is worth keeping an eye on now. Tizzard is operating at 15% this season, much better than the 8% he ran last term.

It was great to see the stables bring Lostintranslation back to almost his best last weekend and I hope that they can work together miracles with Slate house. He may be a better chaser these days but with 137 points on the hurdle arc, he must be significantly concerned about price if he is anywhere close to his best.

Slate House was a novice hurdles winner at Cheltenham on his debut before going on to beat Summerville Boy in Division 2 at that track shortly after. He fell into the supreme rookie competition the following March in a race that was won by that opponent.

He never really recovered after that and was chased, where he was hit or missed. His big day in the sun came when he won the Kauto Star Race for episode 1 at Kempton on Gift Day 2019.

With a seasonal leave from school following an absence from 2nd grade at Wetherby because of the October barricades, he should have taken off more of the clothing he now drops off in class.
