2024 Open Championship Odds, Predictions: Scottie Scheffler’s Predictions Based on Golf Model That Has Won Last 3 Majors

Royal Troon will host its 10th Open Championship starting on July 18, as it looks to live up to the drama from 2016 when Henrik Stenson shot a record 20-under to beat Phil Mickelson. Americans have won the previous six Open Championships at Royal Troon, and there are several Americans near the top of the PGA odds this year. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the 15-4 favorite to win the 2024 Open Championship, while Xander Schauffele is 10-1 and Bryson DeChambeau is 12-1. Should you back those Americans or others with your 2024 Open Championship bets?

Four-time major champion Rory McIlroy is second on the odds board at 8-1 as he tries to shake off his US Open runner-up finish. Other British Open contenders include Ludvig Aberg (12-1), Viktor Hovland (15-1) and Collin Morikawa (18-1). The model also won 13 majors over the weekend, including the 2024 Masters — its third consecutive Masters — and this year’s PGA Championship and US Open. Anyone who followed the model saw huge returns.

Top Predictions for the 2024 Open Championship

One big surprise: Jordan Spieth, a 28-1 underdog, has made a strong run for the title. The 13-time PGA Tour winner is still looking for his first win this season, but he has three top-10s. He ranks ninth in total strokes and seventh in putting average, so he could gain more strokes on the British Open field in many categories.

The 2015 FedEx Cup champion has won three major championships, including the 2017 Open Championship. He has never missed the cut at the Open and has six consecutive top-25 finishes. Spieth is overlooked because of his lack of success over the past few years, but his underlying stats combined with his Open Championship history make him a strong contender.

The model also looked at Scheffler’s position at the 2024 Open Championship. Scheffler has six wins this season, including his second major championship at the Masters in April. He has only finished outside the top 10 twice in 15 starts of the season and just won the Travelers Championship in his most recent start.

He has been able to dominate opponents with his incredible ball-striking ability. Scheffler enters the 2024 Open Championship ranked first in greens in regulation (74.14%) and strokes gained: approach greens (1.485). He is also effective on the greens, ranking first in putting average (1.687) and 25th in putts per round (28.38). This model just locked in its Scottie Scheffler Open Championship picks here.

How to Pick the 2024 Open Championship

The model also targets two other golfers with odds of 18-1 or better to make a strong run for the title. Anyone who backs these long shots could be in for a big win. You can only see the model options here..
