Not quite the return of the legendary XLV750 but Honda Transalp 750 2024 launched in Malaysia at the ongoing Malaysia Motor Show 2024, priced at RM56,800 ex-showroom. The XL750 Transalp slots in between the Honda NX500 (RM37,099) and Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin (RM117,888) in Boon Siew Honda’s adventure travel portfolio.
The Transalp 750 carries an 8-valve, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crank and 755 cc SOHC capacity. Power is rated at 90.5 horsepower at 9,500 rpm with maximum torque of 75 Nm at 7,500 rpm passing through a servo clutch equipped with a 6-speed gearbox and final drive same chain.
Suspension for the XL750 Transalp uses a Showa 43mm SFF-CA upside-down fork (Separate Function Fork Housing) and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. The Transalp has 200 mm of suspension travel at the front and 190 mm at the rear, and a ground clearance of 210 mm.
To meet off-road needs, the Transalp 750 is equipped with 21-inch wheels at the front and 18-inch rims at the rear. Tire sizes are 90/90 and 150/70 in the front and rear respectively.
The Transalp 750 carries a fuel tank with a capacity of 16.9 liters while the seat height is set at 850 mm and weight is listed at 208 kg. In Malaysia, the Transalp 750’s main competition comes from Yamaha Tenere 700priced at RM69,988.
