General Motors announced on Thursday that the GMC Hummer EV 2024 gets an estimated range boost in a configuration.
The Hummer EV 3X pickup truck achieved GM’s estimated 381-mile range with the largest 205-kwh battery pack, up 26 miles from the 2023 model year. GM estimates a range of 359 miles for the models. Vehicles are equipped with the Extreme Off-Road Package, a 30-mile boost. Note that this is not an EPA range rating.
Weighing in at more than 9,000 pounds, the Hummer EV does not qualify for EPA testing, which is designed for passenger cars and light trucks. The EPA’s light emission test threshold (and range) is a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,000 pounds, and the GMC Hummer EV Pickup exceeds that limit at 10,660 pounds. Unofficial GM test results cannot be compared with other vehicles with official EPA range ratings.

Just recently, in April, GMC said the Hummer EV 3X Pickup, equipped with 22-inch wheels and 35-inch off-road tires, will go 355 miles on a single charge, while the Extreme Off-Road Pack, with its 18-inch wheels and 35-inch mud-terrain tires, retains estimated 329 miles of the launch edition Edition 1.
GMC previously said the 2024 Hummer EV SUV, with its slightly smaller 170 kWh battery pack, can go 500 km in Version 1 form and in 3X SUV form, both with standard 22-inch wheels. Both versions are estimated at 298 miles with the Extreme Off-Road Package, again using 18-inch wheels with 35-inch off-road tires.
Pickup GMC Hummer EV 2023
The GMC Hummer EV is one of the few models that will take advantage of 800-volt charging. In this case, it turns on a switch to connect two layers of the Hummer EV Pickup’s two layers of 205 kwh batteries in series. The pickup can go 100 miles in just 10 minutes with a 350 kw CCS DC fast charger and the Hummer EV SUV can go 100 miles in 14 minutes. Both versions of the GMC Hummer EV 2024 are capable of vehicle-to-load power generation via GM’s Power Station generator, allowing them to charge other EVs at 6 kw or provide output up to 25 amps at 120 volts or 240 volts.
The Hummer EV 3X pickup will go on sale this fall to existing Hummer EV pre-orders, with prices starting at $106,945 with destination. Production is expected to begin later this year at GM’s Zero Plant in Detroit.
