2023 Ford Everest Sport 4×2 Bi-Turbo joins range
Ford added a more widely specified version of its rear-wheel drive Everest SUV to scope for 2023.
The new Sport 4×2 Bi-Turbo has the same exterior and interior treatment as Sport V6 is more expensivebut has a less powerful 2.0-liter engine and is not offered with all-wheel drive.
Pricing starts at $62,790 before hitting the road$6800 less than the V6 model based on the 2023 price. Despite the smaller engine, the Sport 4×2 has the same 3.5-ton brake drag as the 4WD model.
Ford has struggled to deliver V6-powered Everest and Ranger since launch, but wait times have been shorter for 2.0-liter engines. The current wait for the Everest Sport V6 and Platinum V6 extends to May 2023.
Andrew Birkic, President and CEO, Ford Australia said: “The Everest Sport has proven to be a very popular model since we unveiled the Next Generation Everest range earlier this year.
“With the introduction of Everest Sport RWD, we are giving our customers even more choice, with a very stylish vehicle that can tow boats and is suitable for families in terms of safety and comfort.”
The Sport Bi-Turbo will likely allow buyers who want an Everest with mostly luxury trim, but don’t need all-wheel drive, to get a quicker car when it launches in February. year 2023.
Standard equipment on the Sport on top of the existing Bi-Turbo, Trend, includes:
- Black exterior trim
- Black 20-inch alloy wheels
- Hands-free electric start
- Leather front seats with heating and cooling function
- 10-way electric driver’s seat with memory
- Eight-way passenger seat
- Exclusive Blue Lightning paint finish option
In addition to sports, the Everest line has received a number of adjustments.
The flagship Platinum version now comes standard with steel underbody protection, along with a black painted roof.
The Touring package offered on 4WD versions of the Trend and Sport was $350 more expensive ($2300), but now includes black roof rails, a 360-degree camera, zone lights, tow bar and integrated trailer brake controller.
