Is a professional dog groomer and pit owner. I recommend a good tea tree oil/aloe vera shampoo for dogs. (Espree is a good product) And if itchy and yeasty, zymox. But generally skin problems are the result of an internal allergy such as a food.

I use this for my baby, he is allergic to almost everything. Pits are very high maintenance dogs that people don’t realize it. Love my beautiful baby girl and I won’t change him for anything, he is my needed baby.

I used an oatmeal bath for a soak, washed the kids’ hair, then applied coconut oil to any blemishes. We found out my pit is allergic to fleas. Just one bite, and he’ll have a temper tantrum. I would also consider what’s in your dog’s food. I saved one with a grain allergy. He did a raw diet, and it helped.

Shampoo just puts Band-Aid at issue. Fix the condition from the inside out, dogs may have allergies and food sensitivities that need to be addressed otherwise the problem will never go away.

My Pitty has sensitive and allergic skin. However, this is a bit expensive, worth it.

This is what I use for my pit mix. He has very sensitive skin and is very prone to allergies. This helps soothe his skin when he has a flare-up. It won’t be used as a cure, but it certainly helps soothe the itch.

Chlorhexadine dog shampoo. That tool is magic. Works for everything. My Pitbull had itchy skin as a child and this solved the problem. This shampoo is what veterinarians recommend and it has been effective with any and all skin rashes, hot spots, odors, itching, even insect bites. Check out the reviews and you’ll see.

Found my Pitty allergic to chicken and some grains. Change up her food and she takes an organic probiotic for sensitive stomachs once at her breakfast. Miraculous project. Finding the cause is key.

Trizchlor (dermatologist recommended and available on Amazon)…. or for dry skin Tropiclean Oxymed Oatmeal ‘gargle’… .. I have been dealing with this for over 9 years and those are the only two that have worked for my dog. He wears a shirt in the winter when I turn on the heat. He is green pitbull and Shar Pei mix. His coat was like an airplane and he had a secondary skin infection.

Baby shampoo. It’s the only shampoo I’ve found in 3 years that doesn’t leave her skin dry and itchy. Have used everything from oatmeal to prescription shampoo but I find that the yellow bottle of johnson & johnson baby shampoo on the shelf at walmart does the trick.

Try a paste of baking soda and water – you can actually make it quite liquid. Shake the container frequently between applications to keep it in solution. Should clean skin and hair and neutralize itching. Works on human hair/scalp as well. That’s what I’ve been using myself for about three years now. Cheap. Easy. Effective. Makes my hair really clean and soft and amazingly, I can go for days before repeating.
