Wake up early.

Most of the successful women we’ve interviewed in our series wake up early so there’s plenty of time to exercise, eat breakfast, take care of the kids (if at all), and plan out the day. — all without feeling too rushed. I find that waking up an hour and a half before I have to be somewhere often means I’ll be able to check off the important things on my list and stay calm. For my non-early friends, don’t panic: this is a “rule” that seems to have many exceptions! Check out the following alarm clock setting in this article: Yes, you can sleep in and still be successful.

Please pay attention.

My biggest resolution (almost) every year is to always make time in the morning for practice mindfulness. For me, this means using the app Space in 10 minutes meditation This helps me feel calm and focused, then I spend a few minutes praying and jotting down thoughts in my gratitude journal. This routine is the #1 difference between a morning where I feel focused and a morning where I feel exhausted.

Arianna Huffington has said, “When I wake up, I don’t start the day by looking at my smartphone. Instead, once sober, I take a minute to take a deep breath, be grateful, and set goals for the day.”

Katie Kime told us that she starts her day with “a long daily meditation from a favorite author or teacher that I love. It sets my intention for the day and I think it’s a really healthy and useful habit. ” Wendy Koletar’s Morning Rehearsal also involves meditation: “I meditate for 20 minutes in my living room… The challenge at home was to find a moment of quiet and some privacy, but I made it happen. The goal is simply to be present and aware. I focus on the breath to bring me to the present moment.”

Clean bed.

Successful women from Cameron Diaz arrive Gretchen Rubin swear by making the bed every morning, no matter how busy they are. It’s a small task that gives you an immediate sense of accomplishment and helps you feel as though you can take on whatever the day comes to you. Plus, start with a good habit that will create a domino effect; The pleasant feeling of solving it will motivate you not to neglect other positive tasks.

Visualize your perfect day.

Just thinking about the people and situations you will encounter in the next day — and planning how you want to deal with them — can transform your actions from reactive to proactive. Recently, I’ve been taking time while drying my hair (which used to be my most dreaded task) to visualize how I want my day to go, and I’ve seen amazing results.

Conquer the most important item on your to-do list first.

Usually, the morning is when we can think most clearly, which is the perfect time to tackle an important to-do list item before nothing else can get in the way. Laura Vanderkam, author of What do the most successful people do before breakfast?, is a major advocate of this. “The quiet hours of the morning can be the perfect time to focus on an important work project without interruption,” she writes. “Moreover, making time for it early in the day will ensure that it gets your attention before others — kids, employees, bosses — use it.”

Eat a full breakfast.

Usually, this means a good mix of protein, healthy fats, and carbs. Wendy Koletar I usually start my day with an egg taco breakfast, Greek yogurt with granola or a smoothie with bananas, frozen blueberries, kale, almond butter, and almond milk. In fact, a lot of the girls we interviewed take the smoothie route because it’s an easy and delicious way to pack loads of nutrients into one glass.

However, if breakfast isn’t your thing, never fear: Audrey Hepburn always eats two eggs and a slice of whole-wheat toast first, and never skip breakfast. For more healthy breakfast ideas, check out all of our early breakfast facts (meal?) here.

Solve the problem before any excuses can get in the way.

Almost all the girls we interviewed start the day with some sweaty activities, from Katie Kime arrive Emma Hemming Willis. The famous Anna Wintour starts each day with an hour-long tennis match at 5:45 a.m. Not only does a morning workout get the blood pumping and release mood-boosting endorphins, but conquering it, the first thing that ensures guarantee that your daily workout will actually happen. NBC News Now reporter and new mom, Simone Boyce Will try to participate for at least 45 minutes, four days a week.

Connect with someone you love.

Whether it’s a breakfast date with your partner or a fun date with your kids, connecting with someone you love is a great and important reminder of what really matters. Even if mornings are really hectic, try to sit down for a few minutes over breakfast and talk about what’s going on in each other’s lives. Katie James ‘morning routine it’s all about spending quality time with her two kids, and Nadine Abramcyk tells us that although her two children are her alarm clock, “Seeing their faces makes the early wake-up time worthwhile.”

And don’t forget that the simple act of smiling can really make us feel happier way. Next time you wake up in the wrong bed, go ahead and laugh at your partner’s cheesy joke. After all, suddenly the morning wouldn’t seem so sassy.

Be a transcendent scheduler.

It’s no secret that most successful people live according to their schedule to stay organized and ensure that high-priority items are non-negotiable. When you’re picturing the day ahead, go ahead and book everything that you plan to accomplish on your calendar, prioritizing the things that are most important to you. This way, your mind is freed from all those schedule details to focus on more creative tasks. Don’t forget to schedule a break and take some time for yourself, or those things will be neglected once the hectic day of the day kicks in.

Start your quick prep routine.

The mistresses are usually too busy to spend an hour in front of the mirror, so most of them have Tried and true makeup and hair routines they can knock down with lightning speed. Brooklyn Decker get this gorgeous in six minutes.
