March and April are peak season for family-friendly vacation destinations like City of Cancun, Mexico; Oahu, Hawaiand the Caribbean. But for many international destinations, spring is “shoulder season” – the period between low and high season when prices drop and visitor numbers are sparse. The arrival of spring means better airfares and hotels and fewer crowds in many European and Asian destinations. In fact, according to Priceline data, Europe eclipses traditional spring break beach resorts in terms of hotel prices. That means spring in Paris will cost you less than a trip to Cancun.

So where should you travel if you want to save money? From March 1 to April 30, here are the 10 most affordable international destinations.

Mykonos, Greece

Live your Greek fantasies in Mykonos during spring break. March and April on this vibrant island are less crowded and slightly cooler than the summer months, so you won’t be sunbathing on the beach. However, fewer people mean more opportunities to explore Mykonos’ many historical sites, seaside views and world-class cuisine. According to Expedia data, Mykonos is a great destination to visit in March and April because flights are down nearly 65%. It is also a great central point from which to explore the neighboring islands. For example, nearby Delos is one of Greece’s premier historical and archaeological sites.

Weather in Phuket and Bangkok during spring break will be hot and humid. However, don’t let the humidity or the beginning of the rainy season stop you from visiting these magical destinations. With airfares nearly 50% and 20% off, respectively, according to Expedia, now is the perfect time to visit these cultural hubs in Thailand. Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, hosts some of the world’s most vibrant nightlife. Phuket is home to the beautiful and unspoiled beaches that spring break is made for. In Thailand, you will have an ideal stay with great nightlife, great beaches, authentic Thai food and most importantly, great prices.

While it may not be top of mind, Sweden’s capital could be your spring break dream destination. According to Expedia, flights are down nearly 25% during the season. Also, the weather is dry and starts to warm up after the winter months. Guests can explore the waterfront promenade, dine on the cafe’s terrace and admire the stunning architecture of the cityscape. Additionally, artists will admire Stockholm’s metro system, often referred to as the world’s longest art exhibition, as it’s filled with works by more than 150 artists.
