10 Best Eye Shadow Primers Create Perfect Base

I have a confession to make here. When I discovered that concealer can also work as a great primer, I stopped using most of my old primers and started using concealer instead. I also started using concealer because my eyelids can get very greasy. It really just creates the best matte for the eyeshadow to stick to without being too heavy. However, sometimes, I still choose an eyeshadow primer if I want to create a brighter or more dramatic look. This primer by Elizabeth Mott happened to be something I found randomly on Amazon. With so many great reviews, I thought it was worth a try.

First of all, it is quite affordable compared to a lot of other eye shadow primers on the market. Second, it’s definitely one of the best formulas I’ve tried that doesn’t create wrinkles and helps reduce oil on the eyelids a lot. If you have trouble with either of those when it comes to eye shadow apps, this is definitely worth a try. It also goes on and creates a weightless, non-greasy film and helps eliminate any discoloration around the cap area.

I know it’s a little hard to tell in the photos below, but I wanted to show what my eyeshadow looks like with and without primer. It can be a little hard to see in photos, but shadows tend to be a bit more patchy and look less pigmented when you’re not using primer. However, with the primer, the colors stick to the lid a lot easier and look a lot more vibrant.
