Zac Taylor’s wife, Sarah, collects best wishes for Damar Hamlin

CINCINNATI — Program of support around Cincinnati for Damar Hamlin now includes a major effort involving ‘s wife Bengali Coach Zac Taylor.

Sarah Taylor is in charge of elementary school students in Cincinnati who are writing health cards for the safety of the Bills, who remain hospitalized at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

About 40 schools were among those who wrote well wishes for Hamlin, who suffered a cardiac arrest during Monday’s match between Cincinnati Bengals and buffalo bill.

The effort for Hamlin’s letters originated with Cardinal Pacelli, the Catholic school where four of Taylor’s children attended.

Terri Cento, the school’s principal, said the efforts of the Taylors and those around the area were not surprising.

“The City of Cincinnati is really focused on issues and happenings, and this is just one example of how this tragic event happened, but a lot of positive things have come out of it,” said Cento. with ESPN.

Cento said an email was sent to parents on Tuesday about the plan to send a letter to Hamlin.

Hamlin showed”Noticeable improvement‘ since he went into cardiac arrest and his heart rate recovered on the field after a tackle, the team announced Thursday.

Canto said when the students returned from the Christmas break on Wednesday, the effort to write positive notes for Hamlin had paid off. Most teachers used the time in religious classes to write cards.

On social media, Taylor let everyone know that she is working with as many schools as possible to collect tokens for Hamlin.

As of Monday night, Zac and Sarah Taylor, who were not available for comment on Thursday, are among those who have expressed concern for Hamlin and his family following the incident.

Cincinnati’s fourth-year coach was spotted visiting the hospital just hours after Hamlin was transferred to a facility less than 4 miles from Paycor Stadium.

“We’re definitely pulling Damar,” Taylor said in an opening statement to reporters Wednesday, his first comments since the game was adjourned. “Hope for the most positive outlook and look forward to him getting all the support he gets from his team, his community, the people around the league, his family. It will be a great day when he can see that.”

In addition to the support the Bengali have provided, those around Cincinnati have continued to pay their respects to Hamlin as he continues to receive treatment under intensive care. The Bengals’ stadium, like many other stadiums around the country, has been illuminated with green lights. Several notable buildings in downtown Cincinnati do the same.

Bengali midfielder Joe Burrow praised Taylor’s actions as events unfolded.

“At the time, I was very proud to play for someone like Zac,” Burrow said. “He handled it as best he could in that position, as well as, you know, medical professionals, doctors and coaches on both sides.”
