Yongnuo has a new $310 50mm F1.8 AF full-frame lens for Sony E-mount cameras in the works: Digital Photography Review
Yongnuo has announced the YN 50mm F1.8S DF DSM, a new lens for the full-frame Sony E-mount camera system.
While the name and basic specifications are close to Sony E-mount 50mm F1.8″ APS-C-mount lens The Yongnuo was released early last year, the lens itself seems to be a completely different design, inside and out. The autofocus lens is composed of 11 elements in eight groups, including four high-refractive elements, one low-dispersion element, and one aspherical element.
The lens uses a digital stepping motor (DSM) to control the autofocus system and can be turned on/off using the toggle switch on the lens barrel. The lens uses a nine-blade aperture diaphragm, has a 58mm front filter thread, has a minimum focusing distance of 45cm (17.7”), and features a programmable ‘FN’ button that can be customized in the menu of supported E-mount cameras. Yongnuo has also included a built-in USB-C port for updating the lens’ firmware, should it be released in the future.
YN 50mm F1.8S DF DSM lens, follow Sony Addict, which retails for 1,999 yuan, or about $310. You will be able to find lenses on sale in the near future on Adorama, Amazon and B&HOUSE.
