Gallo said they were pleased to keep her at the right company instead of being too ambitious.

“We don’t think the numbers she’s running right now can justify making those huge leaps,” he said. “Everybody wants to win (Kentucky) Oaks (G1) or (Kentucky) Derby (G1) but we are trying to develop the horse and give it physical maturity, confidence and evolution. by each race.

“We’re taking it step by step and over the last few races she’s improved her form,” Gallo said. “She’s gotten more professional going past Belmont and standing on the grass. She’s got a good weight and seems to be making progress in every race and that’s what we want to see.”

Jose Ortiz, on board for all four starts, will keep the mount from the inside card. Gallo credited Ortiz with the decision to take the helm early in her three wins but said the squishy didn’t necessarily take the lead.

“I think that’s just the way it’s set up in the last three races. Nobody was leading, so Jose took the lead and adjusted it down,” Gallo said. “I don’t think she needs to be in the lead. It’s just the continuity of having the same driver on the track and he trusts her a lot and really likes her. They’re a good team.”
