YNW Melly will appear in court on March 7, 2022 for double murder.
The rapper is in custody after he was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in February 2019 for allegedly shooting YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. His lawyers have requested an expedited trial.
Prosecutors are also asking for the rapper’s DNA with a swab in his mouth to try and match it with DNA found at the crime scene where he allegedly shot and killed his friend YNW Juvy ( Christopher Thomas Jr.) and YNW Sakchaser (Anthony Thomas) in October 2018.
A few months ago, YNY Melly shared with fans that he had his privileges revoked for three months after posting on Instagram.
“To all my fans, I love you and really appreciate you,” YNW Melly wrote. “Brown county main prison lieutenant confiscated my gucci shoes and gucci socks/headband due to a promotional video I posted for my album narrowly last Friday and they took the privilege visit my video for 90 days so I can’t interact with my family and fans through video visit.”
