The PW-X3 is Yamaha’s smallest, lightest and most powerful actuator to date. It has a claimed torque of 62.6 lb-ft, while maintaining 250W nominal support, 500W max support and up to 20 mph electrical support. Support levels include ECO, Standard, Premium, MTB, Extra Power, Auto Mode, and Walking Assist. Yamaha’s Auto Assist Mode feature selects the appropriate level of assistance based on driving conditions.

The new bikes also feature Yamaha’s interface controls that allow riders to get information and manage settings while staying focused on the trail. Features include a simple assist control switch, LED assist mode level indicator, Bluetooth connectivity to the Garmin Edge 530-830-1030 cycling GPS computer, LED dimmability, and battery capacity indicator.
Difference
The YDX-MORO 07 and YDX-MORO 05 share many of the same components, but there are a few differences between the two beyond color and a $600 price tag.
In terms of suspension, the 07 has Rockshox Lyrik Select front fork with 160 mm of travel while the 05 has Rockshox Revelation RC, also with 160 mm of travel. At the rear, the 07 has a Super Deluxe Select+ shock absorber with 150mm of travel and the 05 has a Deluxe Select + shock absorber. Both bikes have DebonAir + 210x55mm springs with 15 clicks for rebound and 2-position compression.
The brake system is also different. The 07 is equipped with a Magura MT5 4-piston brake with a 203 mm central locking rotor and a single-finger lever. 05 is equipped with a Magura MT30 4-piston brake at the front and a 2-piston brake at the rear with 203mm central locking cranks and a two-finger lever.
availability
The YDX-MORO 07 will be available this December in two colors Blue and Crow with Silver for $6,399.99. The YDX-MORO 05 will be on the market in early 2023 at Forest Green for $5,799.99. Both will be available in small, medium and large sizes.
While both bikes are designed to provide what Yamaha calls a “Pure Ride” experience, the premium suspension and brakes on the 07 are worth the price difference. That dual blue on the 07 is also pretty sharp.
