Yakuza vocalist Kiryu has a Christmas single

Today I made a life-changing discovery. Takaya Kuroda, voice actor YakuzaThe beloved protagonist of Kazuma Kiryu, who is also the lead singer of a band. Their names are Takaya Kuroda & Goodfellas and they have a Christmas song. Not only is this great news, I can’t fathom that it sounds like Kiryu is giving some sort of festival cheer. So take it easy, start this, and let the warm tones of Kiryu cover you like mulled wine.

First, I have to thank Yakuza board on Reddit for drawing my attention to Takaya Kuroda’s tunes. Without them, I don’t think Christmas would have happened. Merry Christmas going on, friends.

The Christmas tune in question is titled “My little sweet honey”. It’s mostly in Japanese but the chorus is where Kuroda ties in, “Please, please, marry me”. As soon as there is mention of “currently”, this is undeniably fun. Then he hit us with two “Happy! * Pause * Christmas!” when the carnival vibes hit their peak.

Feliz Navidad used to be my favorite Christmas song, featured through the Slade classic. But not anymore. They were broken on the bells by Kazuma Kiryu holding a bicycle. I saw him descend into the karaoke room hunched over the mic as the screen rippled and he was carried above Kamurocho at night, riding on a sleigh led by some of the most iconic characters of the series. series: Mr. Masochist, Mr. Libido, Mr. Moneybag and Mr. . Removed. Haruka signed on as a top J-Pop idol. Majima dressed as an elf. It was a real Christmas for the Tojo Clan.

I assume most Yakuza games are really Christmas games. Many of them are set in December and some of them have Christmassy missions. There is one in Yakuza 5 where you have a friend dressed up as Santa Claus and confront the “Santa Hunter”. One of these thugs even sang an iconic verse, “O killing fields we’re walking on, laugh out loud!”

‘s band other tunes quite rocky, reminiscent of actual Yakuza songs. The kind of thing I can imagine is fighting the buggers outside the Club Shine or the bowling alley. And hey, if you’re after some timeless Yakuza tunes, Kuroda’s band has you too. I mean, you can’t go wrong with Baka Mitai, can you?
