Just when we thought the leaders couldn’t make things more complicated… now Europe faces a mass crippling energy shock and the German chancellor shuts down the pipeline… The run NATO’s fearsome race with Russia.

The inflation rate in Germany stood at +4.9% in January 2022. In December 2021 it was +5.3% when it hit its highest level in almost 30 years.

Increased energy costs

Germany’s main inflation driver is energy, which rose 20.5% year-on-year in January.

According to Federal Statistical Office, the price of motor fuel increased by 24.8% and the price of household energy increased by 18.3% over the same period last year. Prices for heating oil in the home increased by 51.9%, natural gas by 32.2% and electricity by 11.1%.

The sharp price increase for energy products was influenced by a number of factors: 1) the increase in CO2 fees from 25 euros to 30 euros per ton of CO2 at the beginning of the year, and 2) higher electricity prices.

Escalation of war

Now, worries are growing that the situation in Europe is about to get much worse.

Earlier today, Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that Germany is suspending the approval process for the Russian-German Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline – meaning it cannot come into operation. The pipeline was built to become a major supply line to meet Germany’s energy needs as the country brings nuclear and coal power plants offline.

“55% of Germany’s natural gas needs are met by Russia’s Gazprom. Gasoline depots across the country are now only 31% full”, reports Disclose.tv.

2000 euros for 1000 cubic meters of gas

Dmitry Medvedev, Vice Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, responded with a powerful tweet to the German move:

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has issued an order to stop the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline certification process. Good. Welcome to the brave new world where Europeans will soon pay €2,000 for 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas!

The crazy race to the world war of nuclear superpowers

All signs point to the escalating Ukraine conflict that threatens to spiral out of control, possibly erupting into a World War between nuclear superpowers Russia and NATO. is underway in what Stoltenberg calls ‘the most dangerous moment for European security in a generation.’ ” it doesn’t look good. We’re being run by dangerous, reckless madmen.
