Through her senior modeling debut, Black Panther star Winston Duke has unknowingly become “the face of the plus-size model movement.” However, it’s worth noting that the actor “didn’t know” that he fell into the oversized category, even though he’s embracing the title!
Winston Duke: ‘I’m an Ambassador for plus size models now’
While appearing on Live with Kelly and Ryan on Wednesday, Winston was asked if there were any additional offers following his modeling debut at Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 4 back in November.
While the simple answer is “no,” Winston notes that a surprising development has come from his modeling experience.
“No, but now I have become the face of the plus size model movement.”
He continued, noting that he didn’t know he was “oversized”. However, he openly accepts his status as an “unofficial ambassador”.
“I don’t know, I seem to be oversized. So I’ve been running around telling people to watch out for how they talk to me because I’m currently the ambassador for plus size models. Unofficial Ambassador.”
Winston goes on to add humorously that his feature is for Mr. also spurred this discovery, when he first saw people calling him the “oversized man.”
“There are all the tweets that say, ‘We’re happy’ — I’m like, the cover for Mr. magazine—and they said, ‘It’s great to see a well-dressed oversized man.’ And I’m like, ‘Am I oversized?’”
Winston ended by noting, “I just got started with it. I am an oversized guy. I will take it!”

While talking about Winston being an oversized icon, we must add that he still shows up on IG!
Whether he’s lounging in shorts or cracking watermelons and papayas with his thighs, Winston doesn’t mind showing off his stout legs!
The fruit isn’t the only thing buckling under the pressure of Winston’s thighs, though, as illustrated by a story he recently shared on Twitter. Tonight’s Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The actor specifically recounted being asked to wrestle with Chadwick Boseman during an audition for Black Panther.
“We went through the footage and they said, ‘We just want to see how you’re going to be together, how you’re going to play. So can you wrestle or something? Can you wrestle around?
Winston finally agreed, although “the first thing that happened was [his] split pants.
“I got in there and I, like, crouched down. And the first thing that happened was my pants came off…We saw it!”
