Latest energy trend data released by BEIS:
It was surprising to see that wind production fell by 38% for land and 24% for offshore compared to the same period last year. This is despite the newly added capacity.
We are used to short-term declines in output, maybe for days or even weeks. But to effectively lose a third of a generation over an entire quarter shows how dangerous it is to depend on wind power.
The difference is made largely from imports, double:
