Which N64 online Nintendo Switch game do you want next?

At the announcement of Nintendo Switch Online’s Expansion Packs, we got to see the full list of upcoming N64 games for the service. With Kirby 64 out this week (and only Pokemon Snap left in the queue), what do you hope to find in the second wave of Nintendo Switch Online N64 releases?

Because I love pain, Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness. This is truly one of the most brutal 3D titles available on the Nintendo 64, but who doesn’t love werewolves and motorcycle skeletons! – Kazuma

nintendo 64 Castlevania pikachu

I want Hey you, Pikachu!. Why? I’d like to see if it’s possible to somehow make it run on the Switch. Forcing me to open the Nintendo Switch Online app on my phone every time I want to (try to) tell Pikachu what to do! Let me relive the frustration of watching Pokemon ignore my requests! Also, with all this lone pandemic time? I can use someone to “speak” and work on my speaking again.

…I guess Hamster Monogatari 64 It can also be fun. – Jenny

Nintendo Switch online rakugakids n64

A digital service like the Nintendo Switch Online N64 app offers a great opportunity to give an overlooked game another chance. Of course, it would help if the game was good too! And if it does age gracefully, a rarity in the Nintendo 64 category. So my pick: Konami’s Rakugakids.

The hand-drawn skins for the characters and the environment are great! And it’s a quirky fighting game, in keeping with Nintendo’s focus on two-player experiences for NSO. Plus: there’s not much competition for this one! (Though I wouldn’t complain if Flying Dragon will instead appear with the campaign and its quirky gear.) – Graham

flying dragon custom robot

Truth be told, many of the games I wish were in the Switch Online N64 catalog have been around since Nintendo’s initial offering. Even in Japan Sin and Punishment. However, one thing is still not there? (Also exclusive to Japan) Custom Robots.

It and its sequel Custom Robot V2, both announced for service in Japan but not released anywhere, are a surprisingly pure combination of mechanical customization and JRPG-style underworld exploration. With a mood like a blend of Pokemon and Armored Core, they stand out in an environment that tends to make any given game mechanics a simulation title or a turn-based strategy game. – Josh

nintendo online converter n64 pilotwings

I totally agree with Josh about the request Custom Robots series. However, I have another title in mind: Pilotwings 64. The classic 3D flying game was one of the Nintendo 64’s launch titles. It had a lot of missions to complete, using a variety of devices and vehicles. I can’t wait to fly back to the nostalgic title again. – Kite
