WhatApp Community: How does it work?
Before looking at how this new WhatsApp feature works, let’s understand exactly what WhatApp Communities means. In a word, this is a feature that allows WhatsApp users to connect multiple group chats at one place. It will form a kind of community of many WhatsApp groups with a purpose more or less similar to a WhatsApp group. The messaging app owned by Meta believes that this way people can get updates delivered to the entire Community and easily organize smaller discussion groups about what matters to them. .
So what is the need of Community when we already have WhatsApp groups? The instant messaging app responded in a blog post! It reads “Organizations like schools, local clubs and non-profits now rely on WhatsApp to communicate securely and get work done.. we think we can do a lot. more to make it easier for people to manage busy conversations between these types of groups.” That’s where the need for Community came in.
“The community will also contain powerful new tools for admins”
The new WhatsApp Community will also give new permissions to WhatsApp Group Administrators. Basically, it will be the admin responsible for creating and managing a whole community on WhatsApp. Admins will have the power to choose which groups will be members of the community by creating new or adding existing WhatsApp groups to the community. They can also unlink groups or even an individual member. Provides more control over managing content shared in these communities, as admins will be able to delete inappropriate or abusive messages or media to all members member in the group.
