Mazda Australia will expand its SUV range later this year to include a pair of new large SUVs.
That would make Australia the only market to offer all four vehicles on the brand’s rear-wheel/four-wheel-drive Large Architecture platform.
Two rows CX-60Aimed at markets such as Europe and Japan, was launched here last year, followed by the three-row model CX-90 developed for markets such as North America.
They will be joined before the end of the year by CX-70the CX-90’s two-row companion; and CX-80Extended three-row version of the CX-60.
Mazda Australia has only released limited information about the CX-70 and CX-80 in its local market. Pricing is still unknown, while we only know a few spec details.

The CX-60 range starts at $60,550 before on-road costs for the petrol-powered Evolve, and tops out at $88,800 before on-road costs for the Azami plug-in hybrid when equipped with the SP or Takumi package.

Drive system
All Large Architecture rear-wheel/all-wheel drive vehicles are equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a mild-hybrid or plug-in system.
To date, all models in the range introduced in Australia have had rear-biased all-wheel drive, although the rear-wheel drive CX-60 is still available in some markets. .

CX-70
While Mazda Australia has not released full specifications for the CX-70 for the domestic market, it has confirmed that it will offer the e-Skyactiv turbocharged 3 inline six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. .3 liters.
A plug-in hybrid version offered in North America has yet to be confirmed, although we’ll get a diesel engine that’s not available in that market. It’s likely to be the same tune as the CX-90, which we’ll cover in more detail below.

Similar to the CX-70, Mazda Australia has yet to release full local market specifications, leaving us to look at the European-spec CX-80 in this case to find out more.
The petrol-powered CX-80 isn’t offered in Europe, but it looks like the petrol model here will use the same powertrain as the CX-60 pictured above.
