A few years ago, I applied for American Express® Gold Card And it was become one of my favorite rewards cards.
Cards earn 4 transfers Amex Membership Rewards per dollar spent at restaurants worldwide and in US supermarkets (up to $25,000 per calendar year, then 1 point per dollar for the following year). It also offers up to $120 in dining credits per calendar year. Enrollment is required.
Here are 5 things to do once you get your hot new card.
Enroll in the $120 annual meal credit
With Amex Gold, you’re eligible for a monthly statement credit of up to $10 when you use your card at participating dining partners.
These partners include at Grubhub, The Cheesecake Factory, Goldbelly, Wine.com, Milk Bar and select Shake Shack location. This statement credit works like a credit up to $50 Credit Saks on Platinum Card® from American Express in that it is not allocated all at once. Instead, it is spread evenly throughout the year in monthly installments.
You need to register your card to receive this privilege on the Amex website in the “Benefits” section, so do it as soon as you get your new card.

Add Amex Gold as payment with Grubhub
If you use food delivery service Grubhub, set your payment card with them to Amex Gold to earn 4 points for every dollar dining at restaurants and easy monthly statement credit up to $10 available at those eligible dining partners. Enrollment is required.
