As Sunday wraps up in Kyiv and in Moscow, here are the main developments for the day:

The death toll reached hundreds. At least 364 Ukrainians have died since Russia invaded Ukraine and at least 759 people have been injured, according to the United Nations. The actual toll is said to be “significantly higher.”

Another cease-fire attempt was unsuccessful. Russian forces break the ceasefire for the second day in a row when they opened fire on Mariupol, again forcing the port city to halt the evacuation of civilians.

Thousands of people have been detained for anti-war protests in Russia. Finish 4,300 people across 56 citiesincluding Moscow and St.Petersburg, were arrested for protesting President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, according to an independent monitoring group.

Western powers are negotiating a ban on Russian oil and gas imports. The United States and its allies are have an “active discussion” on banning such imports from Russia, while at the same time ensuring an adequate supply of oil for the rest of the world. The Biden administration worries what that could mean for gas prices, but the energy import ban would also deprive Russia of a major source of revenue.

TikTok temporarily bans Russian-language content. The extremely popular video sharing application is suspend all new content, including live streams, uploaded from Russia. The company said it was enforcing the ban as it considered the effects of new Russian laws that have cracked down on independent media.
