We’re fashion editors, and here’s our summer 2022 aesthetic
Call it a fashion person, but managing the aesthetic at the beginning of each season is crucial. It’s like making an itinerary before a big trip or drawing up a blueprint before embarking on a new construction; that’s the phase roadmap of how we want to dress for the season. And having one thing in mind will make it easy to plan and shop for new items to add to your wardrobe.
Last year I went into a Helmut Lang and Margiela Stages (I still am), so everything I buy is sleek, quirky, or decked out in cool fabrics. Since maintaining the aesthetic is a top priority, I know I can instantly switch up anything that’s flamboyant or overly elegant. Now in 2022 my mood is focused on all things printed and saturated for summer.
As a curious editor, I wanted to know how determined my Who What Wear editors were to dress during the heatwave. With detailed images in mind, each of them shared with me the summer aesthetic they decided to get their nails done this year (and it spans every aesthetic you can think of).
