“We’re both delusional” – Tense Eubank Jr-Benn confronts revealed words
No funny stories were exchanged between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank in their first press conference before they clash October 8 live on DAZN pay-per-view.
After all the questions were answered, the two Britons had much to say to each other as they faced each other, where there was nowhere to hide.
It was the older man, Eubank Jr, who initiated the verbal exchange, commenting on Benn’s height.
“You are taller than I thought.”
Junior is 5’11, three inches taller than his opponent – but on stage, the height difference looks insignificant.
Benn has never been one to shy away from a battle, be it physical or verbal, as he responded to Eubank’s remarks:
“It won’t make any difference, you know what they say about the bigger they get.
“It’s crazy to think you think you can walk past me you know.”
After referring to Eubank as “delusional”, a word that Benn referred to the Brighton-based middleweight multiple times during construction, Eubank responded by saying:
“We’re both just a bunch of paranoid mother and daughter and that’s okay.”
Despite the stubbornness of both men, Benn finished with the upper hand, receiving the final words in the exchange:
“I like complacency.”
With the sons of former world champions barely making eye contact through verbal combat, the intensity of the match is there for all to see.
