Essay by Eric Worrall

AAP fact check, a few wild claims and Andrew Doyle’s interview with British environmentalist Jim Dale seems to have taken on a life of its own.

Climate change deniers are not at risk of being arrested by the WEF

William Summers June 7, 2024

AAP FACTCHECK – A website with a history of spreading false positives World Economic Forum (WEF) has ordered governments to arrest all climate change deniers.

This statement is false. The man who allegedly gave the “order” was a British meteorological consultant who told AAP fact check he has no connection to the WEF, a global economic forum and think tank.

He also did not issue any orders or call for the arrest of all climate change deniers.

What he did say was that promoting climate denial in the media is illegal.

The false claim appeared in an article published by The People’s Voice, a publisher known for spreading misinformation and fake news. click example new stories.

Article mentioned titled: “WEF Orders Government to Arrest Citizens Protesting Man-made Climate Change Narrative.”

It describes how environmentalist Jim Dale says it is illegal for people to “promote” climate change denialism in a television segment aired on GB News on May 12.

Mr. Dale said AAP fact check that the statement he made on behalf of the WEF was “completely false.”

I followed People’s Voice’s article. It appears to quote a WUWT article I wrote, although they added some paraphrasing of their own.

WEF orders the Government to arrest citizens who oppose the narrative of man-made climate change

The truth has been verified by the People’s Voice Community

May 21, 2024 Sean Adl-Tabatabai

The World Economic Forum has ordered the government to start arresting citizens who oppose the narrative of man-made climate change in an attempt to convince the masses that ‘global ferment‘ is a real danger.

Young global leaders and British far-left environmentalist Jim Dale says all ‘climate deniers’ should be thrown in jail to stop them convincing others that man-made global warming is fake pretend.

Dale did not specify what kind of sanctions would be imposed on those still allowed to live outside of prison despite what he believes is a mistaken belief, but he indicated that it would be up to governments. politicians such as Labor Party leader Keir Starmer.

Based on Power up with thatIn fact, the Earth is currently in the process of cooling, not warming. In fact, the climate always changes up and down not only with season but also with age.

If there were periods of extreme heat and cold before industrialization, how can people like Dale claim that human activity is the cause of the “extreme” temperatures he claims? Dad is currently going on?

“Given geological evidence that we are living in an extremely cold period, how can today’s temperatures be considered a global warming emergency?” Power up with that request.

“However, an opinion like I just provided, a simple statement of fact, would likely be illegal under Jim Dale’s climate denial rules. Under Dale’s proposed rules, I or anyone else who reposts this article could go to jail or lose their homes simply for suggesting that people living in the middle of an ice age should care more about glaciers than the weather here. beach.

We’re in the Quaternary Ice Age, and it’s warmer than it was a few hundred years ago – although whether the world is cooling or warming a lot depends on your choice of time scale and starting point.

I believe the article referenced was “Jail the Deniers? British environmentalist demands criminal sanctions.” As far as I can tell, I did not mention the WEF in that article.

Environmentalist Jim Dale didn’t actually say “Jail the deniers” in the interview above, what he said was that deniers should face criminal sanctions. But how can you be criminally sanctioned without the threat of jail time? Jim Dale refused to specify exactly what those who refuse criminal sanctions would face, instead suggesting the British opposition leader Keir Starmer should make that call.

Will the WEF order governments to start arresting climate deniers?

I don’t believe the evidence People’s Voice presented in the AAP Factchecked article supports this claim, although if I’ve missed anything, I’m happy to add a correction.

I don’t recall Jim ever identifying himself as a WEF spokesperson, if he had I would have mentioned that. To be honest, Jim seemed a bit slow, he really struggled with simple questions, not the type of person the WEF usually chooses to represent.

We are living in dangerous times. I accept People’s Voice’s recommendation that disturbingly authoritarian hate speech laws being used to detain people in the UK could one day be applied to climate denial. I also accept that UN And WEF may be behind the push for international recognition of ecocide, which could be used as a pretext to arrest climate skeptics. But these are all future possibilities. As far as I know, right now, today, no one has been arrested for climate denial, and I see no evidence that anyone has been ordered to arrest deniers.
