The real biggest surprise of The Game Awards was the announcement Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, a sequel coming out a decade after Relic’s chainsword action game. Spoice Mahreen is a lovable hack-and-slash game that captures the nastiness and extreme violence of future fascists in a way no other 40K game has. Ultramarine boy, Captain Titus will return, this time to cut down the Tyranids. Check out the announcement trailer.
While the first game ends with Titus being saved that day then imprisoned on suspicion of heresy and poisoned by Chaos, it looks like he’s back in his big boots for the sequel. follow. Maybe Inqusition is reasonable, right? No, that seems unlikely, doesn’t it.
“Unleash deadly abilities and an arsenal of devastating weapons to annihilate the relentless Tyranids,” the statement read. “Contain galactic horrors in epic battles on distant planets. Uncover dark secrets and return to the eternal night to prove your ultimate loyalty to humanity. type.”
Honestly, Titus, your quest doesn’t include uncovering secrets, and you shouldn’t go anywhere near anything dark. This is the type of behavior that makes a person a heretic.
While the original Space Marine was made by Relic Entertainment, this sequel comes from Saber Interactive. They are primarily known for working on other people’s games, including being involved in the recent remakes of Halo and Crysis, doing the console ports of The Witcher 3, and continuing. Continue SpinTires as MudRunner then SnowRunner. They made their own games, like World War Z.
Titus also has a new actor behind him, in the form of Clive Standen. You might know him for playing Bryan Mills on the show Taken, or Rollo in Vikings.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbos Xeriex X. No release date yet. Its website There’s not much to say either.
The original is a good thing. Ours Review of Space Marine say it’s, like, well, but it’s developed on Alec Meer. A few years later, Alec celebrated it as one of the perfect average 7/10 action game. Earlier this year, out of nowhere, the makers rolled out all the free DLC and renamed it Anniversary edition. I suppose I now understand why.
