VW ID.California sounds like ID.Buzz’s camping partner

Volkswagen Almost ready to announce the long awaited production version of ID.Buzz concept. The heritage-style van will be offered in passenger and cargo configurations, and the Wolfsburg-based company has also announced what looks to be a camper van variant.

“Another vehicle derivative, ID.California, has also been approved for [Hanover] “Volkswagen revealed. Located not far from Wolfsburg, Hanover has historically been the home of Volkswagen commercial vehicle but the factory will also build Audi Artemis (a name that will not be kept for production) and the corpse of an undisclosed person Bentley model, according to a slide obtained by Jalopnik.

While the statement stops at the details of the ID.California, nearly all indications point to it landing as a factory-built camper van based on the ID.Buzz. Across the pond, Volkswagen used nameplates on the camper version of the Transporter; think of it as a descendant of the Westfalia-branded trucks that have roamed America’s roads for decades. Making Buzz worthy of the California icon would require additional equipment like a pop-up where two adults can sleep, a kitchenette, a folding table, and a swivel front seat.

More details on ID.California will probably appear in the coming months. However, there is no word yet on when the model will be announced standard vans slated to launch at some point in 2022, and it’s too early to say whether California will be sold in the state it’s named after – or in any of the other 49 states that make up so our country. An earlier report claim that we will only receive one of the three variants originally planned; version “composite car” and carman will only be built for buyers on the European market.

Keep in mind that Volkswagen’s California camper van was never officially sold in the United States. However, that’s at least partly due to the fact that the truck it’s based on isn’t available here, so the company will need to go through the full homologation process to cater for what could be. best described as a niche market. What is different in this case is that at least one version of the Buzz will be available here, so the arduous process of getting a car certified for the US is complete and this could improve the case. for a dedicated US California.
