The final figure skating competition before the 2022 Winter Olympics begins on Thursday, January 6 in Nashville, Tenn. The US Figure Skating Championships will run through Sunday.
The official US figure skating team will be announced after the championship this weekend. The winners of the competition are not automatically included in the team, but it does matter in the final decision about who gets on the team and will head to Beijing in a few weeks. 16 slots are open for the US figure skating team, and competitors’ performances from the past two years are being reviewed.
Over the course of three days of competition, there will be a total of eight events. Two events will take place on Thursday and Friday, three events will take place on Saturday, while the men’s freestyle skating will wrap up for the weekend on Sunday.

How to Watch the US Figure Skating Championships
- Channel: NBC Network, USA
NBC and USA Network will both show different events at the US Figure Skating Championships. USA Network will feature five events Thursday through Saturday, while NBC will feature three Friday through Sunday.
NBC is the host of the Olympics for the United States.
