US batteries for 300,000 Georgia Metaplant vehicles


Hyundai and battery maker LG on Friday confirmed the final details for a joint battery joint venture that will be located in Georgia and due to supply batteries for Georgia-made electric vehicles beginning in late 2025.

The total investment of the 50/50 venture will be $4.3 billion, the companies confirmed, and will produce 30 gigawatt-hours of batteries annually—to be able to fully support the expected output. The Georgia plant’s 300,000 electric vehicles annually and possibly more.
