United Airlines employee lets mother dog know her pups are safe
United Airlines has covered all the news this week, but one dog mom is forever grateful to one particular employee for alleviating her worries when her family boarded an overseas flight.
Ashley Cervantes, a military wife, traveled from Texas to Hawaii because her husband was being transferred elsewhere. They refuse to make the trip without their beloved Boxer, Maya. The dog was too big to share tickets with passengers on the plane, so there was only one thing to do: board the flight with the cargo.
Cervantes explained to iHeartDogs: “As a woman married to a man in the military, I spend a lot of time with family and friends, and sometimes with my husband. “Maya was always there to make me laugh with her goofy personality. She is my little friend. “
As many pet parents know, letting their companions transport cargo can be an unsettling experience. That’s why Cervantes is understandably concerned about her puppy.
On a Viral Facebook postshe writes:
“I’ve seen a mess since we flew out of Dallas this morning. Every single collision or small rollover on the plane, I picture little Maya and her scared face.”
Amid her anxiety, Cervantes jotted down a note in Maya’s kennel describing the puppy’s shy but sweet nature. She also added her phone number, desperately hoping that one of the airline employees could text her, saying everything was fine.
“I knew it was a long shot, and honestly I wasn’t expecting a text from anyone,” she wrote on the post. “And then to my surprise, I got a text from a complete stranger updating me on Maya.”
They were staying at the Denver airport when the canine mother received a heartfelt letter from Maya’s perspective – along with a photo of the puppy with staff – that left her “in tears of happiness”.
“I can’t even describe how much stress has just been released from me, all because of his kindness. Thank you for treating my family like yours! ” she writes.
When Cervantes shared her touching story on Love What Matters Facebook Pageit has been shared thousands of times!
In the comments on the post thread, Cervantes explained that she wanted this airline employee to be recognized, and even reached out to his supervisors to tell them about his great work. he.
What about Maya? She arrived at her destination airport in Hawaii safely and healthy with her human!
“She is living in Hawaii so well! I have to say, her favorite part of living on the island so far is feeling the sand under her feet! ” Cervantes told iHeartDogs.

We are very happy about that all of Cervantes made their trip safe and healthy and hope that they enjoy their new home!
