Coming from the recent launch of the equally stunning Aitoheiwa Automatic, UNDONE is revamping the Urban collection. For those wondering, there are several sub-models under this banner to suit our different tastes. Those who prefer more than basic timekeeping functions are likely to find their ideal chronograph here.
Urban Vintage Salmon lives up to its name with a distinct combination of aesthetics. It is presented in a round case with a step bezel measuring 40 mm x 12.7 mm. Its size is perfect for users who want a slim and modest accessory on their wrist.
The 316L stainless steel case introduces a combination of polished and satin finishes on its surface. The left side of the center box is unremarkable, while the opposite side has two pump thrusters. These are flanked by an antique-style watch crown engraved with the letter “U” at the top.
Beneath its domed K1 crystal is a vertically brushed rose gold dial with all the indications and branding printed in black. The tachymeter scale occupies the flange portion and surrounds the minute mark. Adorning the face of the Urban Vintage Salmon are hour markers with Breguet numerals.
Meanwhile, the circular registers are located at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock. UNDONE uses black for all functions which look great against the red metallic color underneath them. Swiping inside is the Japanese TMI VK64 quartz-mechanical flyback chronograph movement sourced from Seiko.
Surprisingly, the Urban Vintage Salmon is equipped with a return exhibition case. This enthralls those curious about the inner workings of their watches, even though there is almost nothing to see except the shield and the button cell battery that powers it. Finally, we have a brown genuine leather strap with a stainless steel clasp system.
