UEFA Champions League teams: All 32 participating clubs for 2021-22
There are a total of 32 teams competing in the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League with the dream of winning the most prestigious trophy in professional club football.
English power Chelsea are the defending champions, and a host of contenders will look to take down the Blues. French side Paris Saint-Germain, German Bayern Munich and reach the final round in 2021 City of Manchester rated as favorite by bookmakers.
The tournament begins with the group stage (eight groups, four teams each) and only the top two teams of each group advance to the Round of 16 which will begin in February 2022. Two-leg knockout, total goals scored takes place. the way to the singles final will be held on May 28, 2022 in Russia.
- Group stage: September 14-15, September 28-29, October 19-20, November 2-3, November 23-24, December 7-8
- Round 16: February 15-16, March 8-9 / February 22-23, March 15-16
- Quarterfinals: April 5-6, April 12-13
- Semifinal: April 26-27, May 3-4
- Final: May 28, 2022 (St.Petersburg, Russia)
For the first time since 1965, no away goals will be used in the knockout stages of UEFA competitions, including the Champions League, after it was abolished in June 2021. Series with total goals after the second leg ends will go directly to extra time and, if necessary, penalty kicks.
